HIVE - Home of Innovation, Vision and Enterprise

At Concordia Lutheran College, students are offered a truly unique learning experience through the HIVE - Home of Innovation, Vision, and Enterprise. Here, students immerse themselves in cutting-edge technologies such as laser cutters, 3D printing, vinyl cutting, robotics, drones, and more to solve real-world problems. This hands-on approach allows students to apply theoretical knowledge in practical ways, fostering a deep understanding of complex concepts.

Beyond technical skills, students also learn about the interconnectedness between their projects and the world of business and entrepreneurship. This holistic approach to learning prepares students for the challenges and opportunities of the future, equipping them with the skills and mindset needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

The HIVE is not just a physical space; it is a mindset that encourages creativity, innovation, and collaboration. Students are encouraged to think outside the box, take risks, and explore new ideas, creating a dynamic and exciting learning environment. Concordia Lutheran College's HIVE is where ideas come to life, and students are empowered to shape the future.

Science Enrichment

Explore a range of fascinating topics with us at this engaging scientific enrichment program! In this program, students can investigate the cutting edge of scientific discovery across many fields. From examining future fuels like hydrogen and ethanol to power model automobiles to researching sustainable ocean conservation strategies and even delving into the secrets of astrophysics such as rocketry principles and star evolution. During National Science Week, we'll celebrate with exciting activities that highlight the wonders of science. Students will also learn about the interesting field of forensic science, which uses biological and chemical tools to analyse crime scenes. They'll also look into molecular gastronomy, which uses chemistry concepts to make visually appealing and delectable dishes. They will also explore the complexity of the human body, concentrating on its sophisticated systems, regeneration capacities, and advances in artificial limbs. Finally, students will travel back in time to learn about palaeontology, including dinosaur ages and scientific methods for reconstructing ancient ecosystems. Join us for an informative and inspirational voyage through the world of science!

Math Pathways

The Mathematics Acceleration Program, implemented through Maths Pathways, is a diagnostic-driven approach designed to personalise mathematics education for students. It offers differentiated instruction, tailoring learning experiences to individual students' needs by meeting them at their current level of understanding.

The program provides the opportunity to accelerate the learning pace for students who have already mastered content beyond their current grade level. For instance, a Year 9 student may progress through the Year 10 curriculum, potentially completing their Year 12 Mathematics requirements by the end of Year 11.

This acceleration extends students' mathematical abilities and offers a more customised and tailored educational experience, ensuring they are challenged appropriately and supported in reaching their full potential.
