Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates

Concordia Lutheran College continues to monitor the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and would like to reassure parents and guardians that the health and wellbeing of our students, staff, families and community members is our number one priority. At this point in time, no schools in Queensland have been directed to close.

​We are continuing to monitor the current COVID-19 situation and we are guided by the advice given by the experts and authorities including Queensland Health, State and Commonwealth Governments, Independent Schools Queensland and Lutheran Education Queensland.

Online Learning

Postponed Events & Activities

The following whole College events and activities have been postponed for the remainder of Term 1:

  • Learning Showcase - 19 March
  • Open Day - 21 March
  • A decision has been made at a state level to cancel ALL representative school sport events including district, regional, state, national, interstate and international competitions. This includes Queensland School Sport team participation in any national, interstate or international events organised across Australia or internationally. No further zone/district and regional trials will be held effective 17 March until further advice. Click here for further information.
  • Concordia Sport: No outside-of-school-time training sessions for any Concordia sport will take place, effective immediately, until advised.

    College Communications

    Concordia Lutheran College will use the following communication channels to update parents regarding novel Coronavirus (COVID-19):

    Closed Facilities

    As of midday on Monday 23 March, the following Concordia Lutheran College facilities are closed:

    • Concordia Aquatic Centre
    • Gymnasium
    • College Chapel
    • Weights Room

    All sporting and HPE activities will be held outside for the remainder of the term.


    Community kindergarten services

    Community kindergarten services will commence student free days from Monday 30 March till the end of Term 1 on Friday 3 April.

    Teachers will be in attendance for children of essential workers and for children experiencing vulnerability during these student free days only.  

    Long day care services delivering approved kindergarten programs

    Kindergarten programs delivered in long day care services are to continue operating as per usual, unless the service is directed to close by Queensland Health or based on a decision by the approved provider. 

    Outside School Hours Care

    Before and after school care will continue as normal from Monday 30 March until Friday 3 April, unless the service is directed to close by Queensland Health or based on a decision by the approved provider.

    The Term 1 break will continue as scheduled from 6 April until Friday 17 April. Vacation care will also operate as normal unless the service is directed to close by Queensland Health or based on a decision by the approved provider.
