Walk My Way

On Wednesday, 16 September, our students will take part in Walk My Way, a meaningful walking challenge that turns every step into an opportunity to change a young person's future.

This year, Concordia Lutheran College is walking in support of refugee girls living in camps in Kenya and Somalia, helping them gain access to one of life's most powerful gifts: education.

While education is something many of us take for granted, millions of girls around the world face significant barriers to attending school. Conflict, displacement, poverty, and early marriage often prevent them from pursuing their dreams and reaching their full potential.

By participating in Walk My Way and raising funds, our students are helping create opportunities for girls to learn, grow, and build brighter futures for themselves and their communities.

Walk My Way is an initiative of Australian Lutheran World Service (ALWS), the Lutheran Church's international aid and development agency.

This year's fundraising supports the ALWS PRECIOUS Campaign, which helps protect vulnerable girls from the risks of early marriage by ensuring they can remain in school and continue their education.

Education gives girls the opportunity to dream bigger, develop valuable skills, and create pathways out of poverty. It doesn't just transform individual lives. It strengthens families, communities, and future generations.

When Angeline was just four years old, her family was forced to flee their home in Burundi and seek safety in Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kenya.

Thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, Angeline has been able to attend school and pursue her ambitions.

"I want to be a doctor. I pray, God, bless me so I can achieve this dream. It's not just for me; it's for my community, too."

Your donation helps girls like Angeline continue their education, develop their talents, and work towards a future filled with possibility.

Today, you have the opportunity to stand alongside our students and support girls whose education is at risk.

Every dollar raised helps provide access to learning, safety, and opportunity for refugee girls affected by conflict and poverty.
