Monday 17 July 2023 to Friday 21 July 2023

From the Head of College

Dear Parents and Caregivers

Welcome to Term 3. I hope that you, as a family, have had the opportunity over the past 3 weeks to set the pace and agenda to “fill your bucket” both individually and as a family. Term 3 always brings with it a reality for our Year 12 students that they are about to embark on the final term of their school journey. The coming 10 weeks will be a time for them to consider and fine-tune their academic timeline and commitments, the possibilities and opportunities awaiting them beyond high school and of course various celebrations and rites of passage to confirm this final chapter. Please join me in encouraging, supporting and praying for these young adults as they prepare to leave their mark on the world.

Embracing the possibilities

Welcome back to Semester 2, 2023. I hope you had a refreshing break and are ready to embrace the possibilities and opportunities of the second half of this year. Certainly as a community we are doing so as we roll out our new master plan to set the scene for a positive future for Concordia Lutheran College. We do so in the faith that the Lord who has prompted our forebears to found this school in 1946 and has been with our community through the challenges and opportunities of the last 77 years, continues to lead us, to bless us, and to call us to step out to embrace the possibilities he places before us.

Community News

From the Director of Marketing and Enrolments

We hope you're as excited as we are about the latest developments at Concordia Lutheran College!

This week, we launched our highly anticipated Masterplan, which outlines our vision for the future and sets the stage for an even more vibrant and innovative learning environment.

As we embark on this transformative journey, we want to assure you that your voice matters. Concordia Lutheran College greatly values the ongoing conversation surrounding the Masterplan. We encourage you to stay engaged and share your thoughts, questions, and suggestions as we move forward. Your feedback helps us shape a brighter future for our students and our community.

From the Director of Pastoral Care and Wellbeing

Welcome back to all families to yet another exciting and event filled term. The beginning of Term 3 marks the halfway point of the year. Midyear junctures are an important time to reflect upon the success achieved to date and consider what changes are needed to further improve. Often this means experiencing changes, some of which are in our control and some of which are not. For some individuals this may include changing a routine or habit, committing oneself to a new challenge, re-evaluating priorities or facing unexpected changes.

See you in September

Concordia Lutheran College has made a change to the dates of the Open Morning. It was scheduled for the morning of August 8, but will now be a week of “See you in September”.

This new event will take place for a week from September 11th and will offer opportunity to view the college and its facilities, as well as meet teachers and members of the staff. It will help families see the authentic college environment and ask questions of both staff and students.

As always, parents and carers are welcome to come and inspect any of our Concordia campuses on any school day of the week.

We look forward to seeing you in September! If you would like to register your interest to visit one of the mornings of this week, please send an email to Enrolments@concordia.qld.edu.au and be on the lookout for more information. Write the new dates in your calendar.

From the Junior College Directors

Welcome to Term 3!

We hope that all our Junior College families had a restful and enjoyable holiday break, filled with laughter, relaxation and cherished moments. As we embark on a new term, we are excited to share some fantastic news with our community.

JC Year 3 Koojarewon Youth Camp - Open Afternoon - 24 July 2023

We are very conscious that our Year 3 students have another ‘first’ in Term 3… it is their first school overnight camping experience.

While this is a little stressful for some students, it is majorly stressful for many parents. To assist both students and parents in this ‘first’, Koojarewon offer an opportunity for an optional pre-visit. This is a great opportunity for you to come out to the camp grounds and check out all of the facilities including the dorms, kitchen and dining hall and the overall camp environment. Camp staff will be there to field any questions from students and parents. The Year 3 teachers will also be there too.

If you are feeling a little unsettled about the upcoming camp, or would just like to come and check it out, feel free to come along on Monday 24 July between 3.30pm to 5pm.

Address for Google Maps: Koojarewon Youth Camp, 26 Borghardt Road Highfields.
