Materials

Note: The materials for these artworks have been purchased from discount stores in Toowoomba. You can still make these artworks if you don't have the materials - options are provided throughout.

  • White paper
  • Red, orange, yellow and purple coloured paper (we purchased a MontMarte book of 120 sheets with red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple from a discount store for $6)
  • Glue
  • Pens, pencils or crayons
  • Scissors

Method - Autumn

  1. Take a white piece of paper as the background (you could also try blue or green to contrast with the autumn colours).
  2. Using a brown or black pen, draw some tree trunks on the page and a line across the bottom as the ground.
  3. Taking sheets of red, orange, yellow and purple paper, tear each colour into small pieces.
  4. Stick the small pieces of paper onto the top of the tree trunk to form leaves.
  5. For added texture, scrunch the pieces of paper and stick onto the trees.
